What connecting does

If you choose to connect, Financial Fitness Passport uses Plaid to establish and maintain the connection. You choose which accounts to connect, and you can disconnect any of them at any time.

Your bank credentials never reach us

Your bank username, password, and any multi-factor codes are entered inside Plaid's secure Link interface and are transmitted to your financial institution by Plaid. Financial Fitness Passport never receives, sees, or stores your bank login credentials.

What comes across

Plaid returns a credential that identifies the connection, together with information about the accounts you selected: the institution name, account names, types and mask (the last digits), and, for the products you have authorized, transaction records and account balances.

What we ask for

A new connection is authorized for transaction data only. Access to liability data and investment holdings is not requested at connection time. If those features are offered to you later, they require a separate authorization from you.

What it is used for

This data is used to populate the features you asked for inside your own account. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Storage, and disconnecting

The credential for each connection is encrypted at rest. You may disconnect an institution at any time. When you disconnect an institution, or delete your account, we instruct Plaid to terminate the connection and we delete the stored credential.

Manual entry always works

Connecting a bank or financial account is never required to create an account or to use any part of Financial Fitness Passport. If you never connect an account, no data is exchanged with Plaid.
